party of 5

i was at a party this past weekend where the hostess had originally said, "i'm not sure how many people i'll get out to my party or if anyone will want to buy anything but it will just be fun to have a get together with some friends. i'm not in it for the free stuff."

as the date for her party got closer, she asked around at work if anyone wanted to put in an order and she got 4 outside orders - a great start to her party. when 4 other people that were supposed to come to the party cancelled, she wasn't too upset because she had these back up, outside orders.

her party had 4 attendees plus herself - 5. we played a game, talked about Tupperware, ate some homemade ice cream in the Quick Chef and that was that.

would you believe that this party got the hostess $243 in FREE Tupperware PLUS THREE half-price items? she was SO floored that her friends had seen so many things they wanted AND she'd done the extra leg-work to get a few more orders to add to the lot which made a big difference. amazing! little parties can rock - don't be afraid to host a party because it won't be 8 or 10 people! if you have a handful of people who are interested in organizing their cupboards, saving money on produce, planning meals to freeze, have school-aged kids who take their lunch - these people will find the products they need at your Tupperware party.

for summer, not only are you getting your $25 off your order if you host a party but if you host a party on July 13 or 14 (the start of the new and fantastic sale flyer), i'll add $100 dollars to your order to boost your sales up and get you some more free stuff - that's an extra $10 - $20 of free credit! NICE!

spot the tupperware

how many pieces of tupperware can you see on my counter from when i was preparing meals for a friend who just had a baby?
if you found 4, you're good. if you found 5, you know your tupperware! if you found 6? you have xray eyes! my Twistable Peeler is hiding behind the large Fridgesmart. also here: myImpressions bowls are making two different things, my wonderful Grate N Measure, and my water bottle is actually sticking into the picture there as it dries on the bottle rack. haha.

getting vegetables in...the sneaky way

i'd gotten this giant container of baby spinach and all my fridgesmarts were already full so it was quickly going limp in my fridge. i'd been throwing a handful of it in smoothies for my one year old to get a little extra vegetables in and was sad that i couldn't keep it around longer. until i got a fantastic idea. (well, maybe this is an idea everyone has and uses but i thought i was being brilliant) i pureed all the spinach down (with just a little water) and poured it into my covered ice cube trays.
brilliant! now, when i have been making my assistant's smoothies, i just throw in a spinach cube. i also melted one down the other day and added it to tomato sauce for his pasta. he didn't seem to notice despite the weird colour of the sauce! and it's quite a lot of spinach that goes into one cube when it's pureed! love that we're getting in some extra greens!

if you're looking for other ways of sneaking some vegetables into your kids' (or husband's) food, a great and easy way to get tiny chunks is my fav - the Quick Chef. good luck!

purchase with purchase

in the mid june to mid july flyer, there are three purchase with purchase items.

if you're spending $35, you can get the Microfiber Kitchen Towel Set (usually $23.75) for $15! these are the only dishtowels i use and i love them!

next, if you spend $60, you can get the Freezer Mates Fresh and Pure Ice Cube Trays (usually $30.50) for only $18! if you are a Tupperware you are blog follower, you'll know that i was using these ice cube trays for my baby food back when my assistant was eating smaller quantities. i love that they have lids so whatever you want to freeze in cubes (ice, baby food, pesto, etc) doesn't get all the yuckiness from the freezer on them.

lastly, an exclusive product - the Beverage Buddy - is out again. if you buy $85, you can get this cute drink container for $12.50. even though it looks small and can fit in the door of your fridge, it does hold 2L. great for fitting in the your cooler for camping!

going retro

Vintage Tupperware - Lemon Yellow Juice Carrying Caraffe Container

would you believe that in this next sale flyer (mid june flyer that begins june 12th), there are a couple items that are from this vintage ad! i LOVE how tupperware takes items away then brings them back as specials. makes them new again in great new colours!

anyways - the Beverage Buddy (the little pitcher at the back of the ad) and the Fix N Mix bowl are back in a HUGE outdoor set in this flyer. those two items, along with classics like the Season Serve and Quick Shake (in green) plus two condiment dispensers, rectangular Cold Cut Container, 4 colour-coded cutting boards and paring knives in sheaths make this fantatic set! All together would normally cost $189.50 - on sale together for $101! (pictures to come when the flyer comes out)

salad dressing in my Quick Shake

the other night for dinner, i made poppyseed salad dressing for my strawberry, toasted almond and spinach salad. so much better than Kraft...

throw all these ingredients into your Quick Shake:

2 Tbsp sesame seeds
1 Tbsp poppy seeds
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp. minced onion (or dried onion)
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 cup white wine vinegar (but i used red and it still tasted good)
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup vegetable oil

shake. now you have a ton of dressing. spinach and strawberry salads for a week! (or half all the ingredients to make less)

my rice maker

so even though i'd seen what a great product the Tupperware Microwave Rice Maker was and had heard from customers how much they liked it, it took a little while for me to get around to purchasing it myself. but now i have my own and have used it three times this week already! as soon as i got it, i immediately lost the booklet that comes with it with the directions. this is not recommended. hang on to those booklets, people! i googled "Tupperware Rice Maker Instructions" however, and found a handy video. it was not specific to brown rice, however, so i did my best. it turns out, after you cook your brown rice about 13 minutes, you want to let it sit a long time. this way the rice soaks up the all the water and is soft. if you find that after letting it sit for awhile that the rice isn't how you want it, add a little water and throw it back in the microwave. every microwave is different it seems - play around a few times with yours to figure out how long it will take your rice. yesterday, i made this recipe that i posted awhile back with quinoa. when you make quinoa, you don't want it to sit a soak up the water, you want to drain it right away. it was a yummy salad to add to our bbq chicken and spinach with strawberries salad! for $36.75 for the Rice Maker, you can't go wrong - it doesn't burn, it's easy clean up, and it makes great rice quickly!

the most wonderful grater...

if you grew up (or are still currently) using a cheese grater that looks like this:

then do i have a tupperware product for YOU! i just bought myself tupperware's Grate 'N Measure and it is SO much nicer to use than that old style one. i never used it for anything but cheese so i just need the one side. instead of pressing your hand against all the sharp little grater bits while you grate your cheese, you can hold this handle. then, it grates right into a container that has measurments on the side of it! how handy is that when you're making a lasagna and need a cup of cheese? i'm loving my new grater! only $24.75!
