when life gives you lemons...

the new lemon lime press. it came out with the new catalog in march and it is fantastic. it's plastic, but you'd think it wasn't when you use it. it's such a heavy duty plastic and works so well. if you are a squeezer of lemons and limes - this is a must-have for you. $24.50.

diaper bag containers

i posted about all my tupperware diaper bag containers before but today i as i was cleaning out the bag, i had to laugh at how many snack cups i was using in there. i had 4 in there! as my assistant is getting bigger, i need more containers for his food, especially when we're gone from home for a whole day. today there was rice cereal, cottage cheese, yogurt, and rice & black beans. these snack cups are the most versatile pieces of tupperware! a must have - even if you don't have an assistant.

earth day!

Some Tupperware Tips on being Green with Tupperware:

1. Instead of a paper coffee cup, use our Commuter Mug. (i love mine - i'm a big fan of turquoise!)
2. Instead of buying bottled water, use one of our drinking solutions such as the Eco Tumblers, Insulated Tumbler, or Large Sports Bottle.
3. Instead of using plastic wrap at home, use any of our Tupperware® refrigerator products or the Sandwich Keeper.
4. Instead of paper towels, use one of the Microfiber Towels. (they're so much better and mopping up spills than paper! i speak from personal experience)
5. Instead of using disposable bags, store produce directly in FridgeSmart® Containers. Not only will you protect the environment, but you will be sure to keep your produce fresher longer.
6. Instead of using plastic bags for bulk purchases at the Deli, bring the Fridge Stackables™ Set. The store will weigh it for you to get the weight of the empty container.

Here are a few homemade green cleaner recipes as well:

1. Dishwasher Rinse: add 1 1/2 Tbsp of white vinegar to the rinse compartment of your dishwasher.

2. Glass Cleaner: 8oz of water, 8oz. of rubbing alcohol, and 8 oz. of white vinegar. The best cloths to clean your glass and mirrors with? Our Tupperware Mirror and Glass cloths.

3. Microwave cleaner: Mix 2 Tbsp of baking soda OR lemon juice to 1 cup of water. Microwave it for 5 minutes (or until liquid boils and leaves moisture on the inside of your microwave). Wipe clean.

Happy Earth Day!

it gets repetitive but it's TRUE!

i got home from Ontario after being away for a week and the next day, had my dad and brother over for dinner. i hadn't thought to check my vegetables BEFORE i went to the store but had planned on making a salad. i opened my large fridgesmart and the head of romaine that i had put there at least a week and half ago was crisp and fresh - no rust. also in the fridgesmarts, red peppers. i had bought a bag of 4 but only had room in a fridgesmart for 2. the two in the container were as good as the day i bought them. the other two who were left for dead in the crisper are pretty soft and looking sad. man, i love these things. and a fantastic salad we had.

making dinners in 25 minutes

tupperware's stack cooker is quite the tool for making quick and easy full course dinners. it has three layers and can cook your rice, veggies, and meat all at once. one friend of mine with two little kids uses it at least 3 times a week for her family's meals! another friend bought hers with some of her hostess credits from hosting her own party and she blogged about it here.

starting in the mid-april flyer, it's on SALE! 20% off the complete set (all those 4 pieces including the colander) plus you'll also get the 1 L casserole dish for free! $149.50! that's all the pots and pans and serving dishes all in one! depending on how tall your microwave is, you can just keep stacking those dishes and make a dessert in there too! stay tuned to the blog this week as i write about more specials in the upcoming flyer.

a tip for those tight tupperware seals

if you've ever gotten a brand new tupperware container and have trouble getting that seal on, here's a tip: soak the seal in very hot water for a few minutes. Then put the seal on the container (sometimes i get my husband to do this for me if it's especially tight) and let it sit until the seal is cool. now that seal should be much easier to get on in the future. good luck!
