my rice maker

so even though i'd seen what a great product the Tupperware Microwave Rice Maker was and had heard from customers how much they liked it, it took a little while for me to get around to purchasing it myself. but now i have my own and have used it three times this week already! as soon as i got it, i immediately lost the booklet that comes with it with the directions. this is not recommended. hang on to those booklets, people! i googled "Tupperware Rice Maker Instructions" however, and found a handy video. it was not specific to brown rice, however, so i did my best. it turns out, after you cook your brown rice about 13 minutes, you want to let it sit a long time. this way the rice soaks up the all the water and is soft. if you find that after letting it sit for awhile that the rice isn't how you want it, add a little water and throw it back in the microwave. every microwave is different it seems - play around a few times with yours to figure out how long it will take your rice. yesterday, i made this recipe that i posted awhile back with quinoa. when you make quinoa, you don't want it to sit a soak up the water, you want to drain it right away. it was a yummy salad to add to our bbq chicken and spinach with strawberries salad! for $36.75 for the Rice Maker, you can't go wrong - it doesn't burn, it's easy clean up, and it makes great rice quickly!
